I build order out of complicated technology environments.

I’m Ben Tartaglia, a technology operations and architecture leader with more than two decades of experience across enterprise infrastructure, field operations, connected systems, automation, security, and technical problem-solving.

Open to senior remote U.S. roles in infrastructure, architecture, automation, technical operations, IoT/edge, and trusted AI-enabled systems.

Different technologies. The same operating discipline.

Observe what is happening, establish state, control risk, handle failure, preserve evidence, recover, and improve. I apply that discipline to infrastructure, identity, connected devices, automation, and AI.

Observable

Know what the system is actually doing. Make health, exceptions, and missing evidence visible.

Stateful

Preserve enough context to know what happened and resume work safely.

Resilient

Assume networks, APIs, devices, and people will fail. Define degraded operation and recovery before they do.

Governed

Let authority and consequence determine autonomy. Make ownership, approval, and stop conditions explicit.

Auditable

Important actions should leave evidence: inputs, versions, decisions, approvals, and outcomes.

Supportable

Someone other than the builder must be able to deploy, troubleshoot, replace, and operate the system.

Experience informs design. Evidence challenges it.

Follow the work from operating real environments to designing architectures, building implementations, investigating behavior, and explaining what it means.

  1. OperateEnterprise and field experience
  2. DesignArchitecture and tradeoffs
  3. BuildInspectable implementations
  4. InvestigateMethods and experiment evidence
  5. ThinkInterpretation and judgment

Leadership that stays close enough to the technology to understand what is actually happening.

Technical research with an operator’s bias toward evidence.

The AI Model Longitudinal Lab connects a research question to controlled observations and operational decisions. The October 2 baseline records 48 responses across six providers; it establishes an initial evidence trail, with further sampling and human review needed before claiming drift or ranking providers.

Technology should make the organization more capable, not merely more complicated.

My work sits at the intersection of technical depth and operational leadership: understanding systems well enough to challenge assumptions, while keeping the larger business problem in view.

I’m especially interested in environments where infrastructure, automation, connected devices, security, and emerging technology overlap.
